Weekly MLS Top Tens and Power Rankings - 4/28/15

THE SOCCERSMITH'S MLS POWER RANKINGS

- New York Red Bulls (3-0-3) - Hard fought draw with the short-handed Galaxy, but hard to knock down the last of the unbeatens. Last Week: 1
 - DC United (4-1-2) - Found a way to beat Vancouver, and they're still not at full strength. Last Week: 4
- Seattle Sounders (4-2-1) - Dempsey snapped a six week scoreless streak with his fourth goal of the season and the defense picked up their fourth shutout in seven tries. Last Week: 3
 - Vancouver Whitecaps (5-3-1) - Losing to DC United isn't the end of the world, but Octavio Rivero appears to be cooling off. Last Week: 2
 - New England Revolution (4-2-2) - Completely dismantled a short-handed Real Salt Lake squad and they still haven't seen the best of Lee Nguyen. After going scoreless in three straight to start the season, the Revs are 4-0-1. Last Week: 9
 - Columbus Crew (3-2-2) - The Crew lead MLS with 12 goals and they've only allowed six. My preseason pick to win the East is starting to heat up. Last Week: 8
 - LA Galaxy (3-2-3) - Playing without Robbie Keane and Steven Gerrard is going to make them a much deeper club. Great seeing Bradford Jamieson take advantage of his playing time. Last Week: 5
 - FC Dallas (4-2-2) - The good news is that Mauro Díaz is back. The bad news is that Blas Pérez's red card likely cost them a win. Last Week: 6
 - Chicago Fire (3-3-0) - Three straight wins after three straight losses and all of those new faces Chicago brought in are starting to contribute. Last Week: 14
 - Real Salt Lake (2-2-3) - No Nick Rimando, no Jámison Olave, no defense. This is a better team than we saw on Saturday, so it's not time to panic just yet. Last Week: 7
- Houston Dynamo (2-2-4) - After allowing just four goals in seven matches, they allowed four on Saturday and blew a two goal lead. The Dynamo have too many vets to not be able to close games out. Last Week: 10
- Sporting Kansas City (2-2-4) - The offense finally showed up with four goals, but where was the defense this week?? Last Week: 13
- Portland Timbers (2-3-3) - This is a team that nobody's going to want to play down the stretch because they can hang with pretty much anyone. As we've been saying for a couple weeks, they just need to keep treading water until the cavalry arrives. Last Week: 11
- San Jose Earthquakes (3-4-0) - Tough to move up when you have a bye week and a losing record, but I'm still liking these guys as sleepers in the West. Last Week: 12
- Toronto FC (2-4-0) - When Jozy Altidore scores two goals, the Reds are unbeaten. When he doesn't, they're winless. That's going to have to change... or he's going to have to score a lot more. Last Week: 15
- Colorado Rapids (1-2-4) - At some point, these draws are going to need to start becoming wins, otherwise the Rapids will be this year's Chicago Fire. Last Week: 18.
- New York City SC (1-4-3) - Just not enough depth on the squad as the season is quickly slipping away. At least it appears that Khiry Shelton's a keeper. Last Week: 16
- Orlando City SC (2-4-2) - I like Cyle Larin, but when's Bryan Róchez going to get his shot? Hard to watch a team led by Kaká struggle so much on offense. Last Week: 17
 - Montreal Impact (0-2-2) - 90 minutes away from a Championship, but they'll need to do it without their #1, #2 or #3 keeper... Last Week: 20
 - Philadelphia Union (1-5-3) - Completely outclassed by Columbus. This is a team that needs some help from somewhere. Last Week: 19
