Landon Donovan currently sits at 19 assists with 3 games left in the regular season. One more would give him 20 (trust me, I went to MIT). Just how big of a deal is that? Well in the league's history it's happened exactly once, way back in 2000. Some guy named Carlos Valderrama playing for a team that doesn't exist any more. Donovan hasn't gone 3 games without an assist since July. Valderrama had a league record 26 assists for the Tampa Bay Mutiny during the 2000 season.
