Weekly Top Tens and Power Rankings

THE SOCCERSMITH'S MLS POWER RANKINGS

- Sporting Kansas City (9-3-6) - Benny Feilhaber is having a career year, Dom Dwyer's starting to get going, the youngsters are contributing and Tim Melia's been solid in net. Everything's coming up Sporting right now. Last Week: 1
- LA Galaxy (9-6-7) - Disappointing showing against Real Salt Lake in the US Open Cup, but boy did they explode after a slow start against San Jose. With Steven Gerrard, Robbie Keane, Sebastian Lletget, Omar Gonzalez, Jaime Penedo and now Gio Dos Santos, these guys have to be the favorites, right? Last Week: 2
- FC Dallas (10-5-5) - Dan Kennedy hasn't been scored on by an opposing player in four straight matches, all Dallas wins. Offensively Fabián Castillo has been a force to be reckoned with. Last Week: 4
- New York Red Bulls (8-6-5) - Handling all of the injuries well and Mike Grella is quietly having a terrific season. Last Week: 7
- Toronto FC (8-7-3) - Is there any doubt who the league's MVP is this season? Sebastian Giovinco has carried Toronto so far this season. Now the only question is can he develop chemistry with Jozy and Michael Bradley. Last Week: 8
- Portland Timbers (9-7-5) - Silly red card by Will Johnson late against Vancouver. You expect better from a veteran player. Nice to see Diego Valeri rounding into form though. Last Week: 6
- DC United (10-7-5) - Bill Hamid's injury is a big deal, but maybe the addition of Álvaro Saborío will offset the loss. Sabo is reunited with his former teammate Fabián Espíndola. The two won an MLS Cup together with Real Salt Lake in 2009. Last Week: 3
- Vancouver Whitecaps (10-8-3) - Picked up a point against Portland, but they clearly miss Pedro Morales who's still out with a calf strain. Last Week: 9
- Seattle Sounders (10-9-2) - Seattle has been shutout four times in their last six matches. They did welcome Erik Friberg back into the fold, but this is a team that just needs the Gold Cup to be over. Last Week: 5
- Columbus Crew (8-7-6) - Two matches against the Fire equals a six point week. Kei Kamara leads all of MLS with 14 goals. Last Week: 12
- Real Salt Lake (6-7-8) - Really good week for RSL as they dumped the Galaxy out of the US Open Cup, and picked up three points against Houston behind a pair of Jeff Attinella shutouts. Intriguing trade with DC United, and while they lose a veteran in Saborio, they bring in young talent with Luis Silva. Last Week: 17
- Houston Dynamo (6-8-6) - The Barnes/Bruin partnership doesn't work without Barnes. Last Week: 10
- Orlando City SC (6-8-6) - Cyle Larin's ejection on Saturday gives Orlando six red cards in their first 20 matches. Hard to win with ten players. Last Week: 11
- New York City SC (5-9-6) - Hurt by Ned Grabavoy's red card, but at least City can take comfort in knowing that help is on the way in Frank Lampard and Andrea Pirlo. Last Week: 13
- Montreal Impact (6-8-3) - We'll see if Montreal does anything interesting during the transfer window. They need to do something to help with their consistency. Last Week: 14
- Colorado Rapids (5-6-9) - Don't look now, but the Rapids have quietly won three in a row and are flirting with .500 again. Kevin Doyle has found his scoring touch. Last Week: 19
- Philadelphia Union (6-11-4) - Conor Casey scored goal number 69 of his career, but injuries were the story in Philly's latest loss. Last Week: 15
- New England Revolution (7-9-6) - The losing streak is over thanks to a nice effort from back-up keeper Brad Knighton. Still, what they really need is Jermaine Jones. Last Week: 20
- San Jose Earthquakes (7-8-4) - Finally found some offense in Quincy Amarikwa, but wow that defense... Last Week: 16
- Chicago Fire (5-11-3) - Lots of injuries plus lots of losses equals last place. Last Week: 18
