U.S. U-17s Miss Chance to Clinch World Cup Berth

The U-17s rallied from an early deficit, but couldn't sustain a late lead and missed a chance to clinch Group A at the CONCACAF Championship which would have resulted in an automatic berth to this summer's World Cup. Luca de la Torre and Josh Perez scored the U.S. goals but Honduras's David Sanchez knocked an awkward cross off his back and into the back of the net for the hosts in the 88th minute to end the match in a 2-2 draw. The U.S. still control their own destiny and can win the group with a win over Jamaica on Wednesday. A draw will also likely put the U.S. through as their goal differential is at +10 whereas Honduras currently sits at +4.

Perez's goal was his 4th of the tournament, tying him with Joe Gallardo for the team lead.
