Weekly Top Tens - 3/9/15

THE SOCCERSMITH'S MLS POWER RANKINGS

1 - LA Galaxy (1-0-0) - Still the reigning champ until somebody says otherwise. Despite missing several starters they had little trouble dispatching the new-look Chicago Fire.
2 - Toronto FC (1-0-0) - The trio of Michael Bradley, Jozy Altidore and Sebastian Giovinco is going to be tough to beat. Just ask Vancouver.
3 - Seattle Sounders (1-0-0) - While their win over New England was dominant, the Revs were without Lee Nguyen and Jermaine Jones. Still, Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins both looked sharp in the opener.
4 - FC Dallas (1-0-0) - Dallas can win with their offense and with their defense and if Blas Pérez can turn in another big year, they'll still be playing come November.
5 - DC United (1-0-0) - Bill Hamid picked up where he left off in 2014 as DC United bounced back from a disappointing Champions League exit.
6 - Real Salt Lake (0-0-1) - With Nick Rimando in net, they'll be in every game.
7 - Portland Timbers (0-0-1) - I honestly thought they'd look a lot worse given all the injuries they've suffered. Speaks volumes that they were disappointed to draw with Real Salt Lake.
8 - New England (0-1-0) - Not an impressive start to the season, but they weren't good without Jermaine Jones last year either.
9 - Vancouver Whitecaps (0-1-0) - I'm going to give the Caps the benefit of the doubt on this one. Plus, Toronto looks really good.
10 - Sporting Kansas City (0-0-1) - Survived an ejection of Matt Besler to salvage a draw with the Red Bulls. Kept Bradley Wright-Phillips scoreless in the process.
